Welcoming the incoming year won't be complete without the 360 fireworks surrounding the island and my toes touching Boracay's milky white sand. This year is different. It's my first time celebrating New Years in Boracay with a significant other and with a baby! I also found a gem in the name of 928! Check out our itinerary and activities:

Accommodation
A. One Azul
We stayed in One Azul in Station 1. I liked staying in Station 1 because for some unknown reason, the sand is finer? And it feels more "residential" than staying in Stations 2 or 3. We booked the Superior Room for 2 days and transferred to Island Nook as we wanted to be in the center as New Year's Eve was nearing.

One Azul is located beside Kasbah, Station 1. Cost : December 28-30 at 4800.00 pesos , no breakfast included
B. Island Nook
My favorite budget hotel! It's close to D'Mall, it's along the road, easy to find, and all bookings include breakfast! Not to mention it's very affordable.

We stayed in a Double Room. Paid a total of 4,500.00 for a 3 days, 2 Nights stay during Peak Season! Not Bad at all.
ACTIVITIES
A. Beach Bumming!
The great thing about being on the beach is just laying and doing nothing. Our routine had been eat breakfast, bum, have lunch, walk a little, go somewhere, do some activities and lay again to watch the sunset.

I was with a guy who is in desperate need of a tan!

B. PARAW SAILING
You'll be surprised as to how many people have been to Boracay but haven't tried Paraw Sailing! Paraw Sailing is basically Wind Sailing. Paraw is a boat that uses the force of the wind to move around the sea.
Paraw sailing activities are popular in the afternoon so people can sail and watch the sunset at the same time

C. DINIWID BEACH
Diniwid is in the West Cove of Boracay. It is also where the popular SPIDERHOUSE and NAMI are.
The best time to go is at around 4 pm and catch the sunset at 5:15-5:30 pm.
To get to Diniwid, just take the tricycle from Stations 1-3 and tell the driver to drop you off Diniwid. Most of the trips are "special" so you have to rent the entire tricycle at PHP 150.00 pesos / $3.00. Going back to your hotel, you can take the tricycles waiting there at 150.00 pesos OR walk to the crossing, about 20 minutes and wait for a public tricycle. Pay 25.00 until Station 2

Sunset in Diniwid Beach

My usual afternoon would consist of having a drink and maximizing happy hour but because of Naima in my tummy, we shall resume getting buzzed as part of my Boracay trip next year! :)
